The Fresh Leaf Maryland campaign aims to educate and assist individuals in Maryland, particularly low-income residents and those disproportionately impacted by cannabis arrests and the war on drugs, in navigating the expungement process for cannabis-related offenses. We provide resources and assistance through expungement clinics, resource fairs, and partnerships with local organizations. The Homeless Persons Representation Project has spearheaded the multimedia aspect, continuing to work with vendors and partners to ensure comprehensive coverage across various media channels.

This campaign was made possible through Maryland Legal Services Corporation grant funding, aiding eight civil legal organizations across Maryland to collaboratively create education and outreach materials. Together, we aim to increase awareness of expungement opportunities and the process; encourage and provide direct legal assistance and resources to those eligible for expungement; and foster a community dialogue about the impacts of cannabis prohibition and the benefits of expungement.
